My Favorite Song to Play Live
Each night, this is undoubtably my favorite song to play live. It explores a few different sonic landscapes that we haven't visited previously. "Pride" is heavily influenced by a Japanese rock band called DMBQ. I remember watching wide-eyed at Atlanta's Drunken Unicorn in November 2005. Channeling 70's era blues acts like Led Zeppelin, the four-piece really caught me off guard. Four years have passed and my ears are still ringing from that night. Inside of such a small room, the Tokyo natives' stage volume bordered on dangerous. "China" Nishuira's drum kit was both disassembled and lit on fire before the pieces were thrown into the crowd. On the way out of town, the DMBQ Tour Van flipped and rolled down an embankment near the Delaware Memorial Bridge in North Carolina. Nishuira was thrown from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene. Later that week- we wrote the main riff for the song.

Wow. Amazing story. Wasn't expecting that. It's good that some inspiration was pulled from ushc a tragic situation. 35 days ago
